How do I become CK-12 certified?
Each July, CK-12 offers a full Certified Educator Program. Educators can get a jumpstart on the program by attending webinars throughout the school year.

What’s involved in this program?
All sessions offered are online webinars. There are no in-person sessions. In addition to these webinars, there will be office hours throughout the program, where you can sign up to speak with a CK-12 team member via a call or video conference. Users are encouraged to join the Jumpstart Forum in the CK-12 cafe to connect with other educators. Any questions posted there will also be addressed.
How do I become CK-12 Certified?
Live sessions will be offered this summer between July 9 and 20. To become certified with CK-12, you need to attend 5 LIVE sessions, plus view the introductory and concluding sessions on-demand. In addition, each session has a matching assignment which must be completed. If you have questions about this process or issues meeting these requirements, but still wish to become CK-12 Certified, please email email@example.com.
What if I attended webinars throughout the school year?
If you attended any of our core webinar sessions LIVE throughout the school year (FlexBooks® 101, Advanced FlexBook® Editing, Groups and Practice 101, CK-12 Simulations and Interactives, or CK-12 for Math/Science Teachers) and completed the matching assignment, you may use that towards your 5 LIVE sessions for this program.
What can I do now to prepare for this program or extend
my knowledge of CK-12?

What happens if I miss a session?
If you miss a session, feel free to register for a later offering of the same topic. If you can’t make those but still wish to see the webinar you missed, you can view it during the program in our “Archived Webinars” section.
Can I get professional development through my district for participating in the program?
CK-12 will gladly provide documentation of your participation in any live webinar and any proof of content published on our site. Participants looking for this documentation should submit the matching Google Form for CK-12’s verification.
What will I be able to do on CK-12 by the end of this
Users will be able to navigate CK-12 resources, customize content, utilize interactives, assign resources, and track student progress.
What if I participated in the Certified Educator Program in a previous year?
If you were unable to complete the program, you are welcome to finish it this summer and have any previously completed work count towards your certification. You will need to complete a form during the summer program so that we can pull your records from the previous year. If you became a CK-12 Certified Educator, we encourage you to join us for new or missed sessions to continue to learn about CK-12.

July 2018 Program Information: To become CK-12 Certified, you need to view the mandatory introductory and concluding sessions (on demand) and participate in five LIVE sessions (choosing a date and time for each webinar). You are welcome to attend more than the required sessions this summer, including our LMS break-out sessions and regional live chats. Assignments accompanying all core sessions are required for program completion.

Certified Educator Program & CK-12 Overview - Available now for those registered for the program.
Watch this session on demand to get started with the CK-12 Certified Educator Program (CEP). This is a required session for participants looking for CK-12 certification and will include program logistics and a general overview of CK-12, as well as models for implementation. Throughout this session, you’ll learn the CK-12 philosophy behind our 2.0 platform and concept-based learning and begin navigating this robust platform to find FlexBooks® and supporting modalities—reads, simulations, PLIX interactives, videos, assessment, real-world applications, and more—to meet your needs.

Wrap up this program by watching this final session on demand. This is a required session for participants looking for CK-12 Certification and will include logistics for completing your certification and ways you can share CK-12 with others. You’ll leave with the tools to implement CK-12 in your class and present it to others, and the confidence that we are here to support you throughout the school year.

Getting Started with FlexBooks® & the 2.0 Platform
If you’ve been thinking about using CK-12’s FlexBooks® in your class, school, or district, this session will give you the tips and resources you need to get started with CK-12 curriculum and editing tools. It will cover reasons for choosing CK-12, differences between our original and new 2.0 FlexBooks®, finding content based on topics and standards, basics of the editing tools, best practices for individual or team customization, and ways to share with and even publish your book for students and colleagues. Hear from other users who’ve used CK-12 to localize content and enhance engagement. You’ll finish the session with a plan for implementation and the skills to enact it. (1 hour)

Advanced FlexBook® Editing
Making advanced edits to your FlexBook® doesn’t have to be time-consuming or intimidating, but it can make it more engrossing for students. With demonstrations on embedding images and multimedia, tips for adding section headers and page breaks, and guidance for using the math editor, you’ll feel confident in your ability to navigate the advanced features of the CK-12 editor. Additionally, this session will give ideas to go beyond editing text and include options for adding other modalities to a 2.0 FlexBook®. (1 hour)

Getting Started with CK-12 Adaptive Practice & Assignments
In addition to CK-12’s Adaptive Practice, which adjusts to the skill level of each student, teachers can assign various modalities—from reads to videos to interactives. This session will go over CK-12 Classes, setting them up, assigning practice, tracking student progress, and using the Q&A feature. It will also show the various question types through samples of CK-12’s Adaptive Practice and how students and teachers can access practice. (1 hour)

Customizing CK-12 Adaptive Practice & Assignments
CK-12 did the heavy lifting for you by creating 150,000+ adaptive practice questions, while giving you the ability to customize these questions—or even create your own—and assign quizzes to your classes. This session will include an overview of the CK-12 reports feature that tracks student progress. Additionally, you will learn how to maximize the assignment feature by creating multi-concept assignments from within CK-12 Classes. (1 hour)

CK-12 Simulations & PLIX Interactives
CK-12’s Simulations and PLIX (Play. Learn. Interact. eXplore.) connect science and math to real-world concepts in a dynamic and interactive way. With over 140 Physics and Chemistry simulations and 1,100 math and science PLIX, students can learn through exploration, complete with interactive environments and associated questions, both in and out of class. In this session, you will learn about accessing CK-12 interactives, the different components included, and strategies for incorporating them into your class. (1 hour)

Teaching Strategies for Using CK-12
CK-12 resources are best used to complement each other. Put them all together to create a fun, interactive, learning environment for students. This session will cover strategies for using CK-12 apps, tools, content, and resources to enhance your class and personalize student learning. Learn how other teachers and students have used CK-12 to highlight and take notes, complete group work at the board, flip their classroom, explore concepts, and much more. (1 hour)

Community Contributed and Non-STEM Content on CK-12
There is more than just math and science on CK-12's platform. This session helps users navigate Community Resources to find educators nearby and build their own FlexBooks® and questions within the CK-12 platform. Even non-STEM teachers can create customizable FlexBooks® from scratch or adapt the work of other districts who have written books in subject areas like social studies and language arts. (1 hour)

With the change of focus in classrooms to more exploratory and project-based learning, CK-12 has launched a new line of resources specifically for CCSS Math.
